A Matte painting of downtown Broughton St. of Savannah, GA and the futuristic elements of a cyber world. This combination was created to bridge the historical charm of downtown Savannah with the futuristic technological landscape.
Temple of Ice
Designed and composited
"Маъбади ях" (ma' Badi jax)
I created a Matte painting revolving around my concept of a legendary temple of Ice located within the Pamir Mountains of Tajikistan.
Dr. Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas (2000) served as inspiration for an infographic piece revolving around the idea of espionage and reconnaissance.
With this beloved story's playful undertones, I wished to emphasize the Grinches reputation as a thief in this quirky title sequence taking place within a broken ornament as the Grinch is about to steal it.
Illustrative Style Frames revolving around the idea of Quixotic unrequited love between man and nature.
Through the traditional drawing method using graphite pencil, I wished to tell a brief story of one man's intense love for nature in a place where a simple tree is scarce, New York City.
Quixotic when defined means "exceedingly idealistic", "impractical", "starry-eyed" and "romantic", With this knowledge I wished to address a quixotic relationship between man and nature. I wanted to capitalize on the idea of "unrequited love". This idea of not having the ability to properly give back the feeling you have towards another person or in this case the environments utter beauty, is what I chose to display in these style frames.
This is a storyboard for the potential motion piece entitled Jjaksarang 짝사랑 (One-sided Love). Originally inspired by the song Jjaksarang 짝사랑 (One-sided Love) sung by the sobering songstress Lee Hi and written by the brilliant Sunwoo Jungah; these style frames incorporated the vulnerable lyrics Sunwoo produced into the overall composition providing an ethereal quality to the overall piece. In essence this piece was created with this concept in mind: the awakening of ones fantasy of love for someone special, by the reality that it may all be felt by ones own self alone.
A tribute to the 2004 Action/Drama hit House of Flying Daggers. This movie poster design was inspired by the tragic love story of Xiao Mei (Zhang Ziyi), Jin (Takeshi Kaneshiro) and Leo (Andy Lau) during the Tang Dynasty.
Comme Des Garçons is a fashion brand founded in 1969 located in Tokyo, Japan. Inspired by their unique aesthetic, I created 4 illustrative style frames for potential Advertisement. Illustrations inspired by the Expressionist period of art history and the great Expressionist painter Egon Schiele.
